Meet Michelle

Fearless leader, Founder, CEO & Head Brewer of Wolseley Kombucha (She/Her)

Michelle’s passion has always been creating healthy elixirs so when she was introduced to kombucha, it was love at first taste! She loved everything about it. The taste, the functional benefit of the kombucha culture, tea & botanicals and its low sugar and gluten free properties.

Michelle’s goal was to create a fizzy functional fermented beverage made with REAL organic ingredients. Wolseley Kombucha is raw, undiluted & fully fermented to help you live a happier and healthy life and to nourish the mind, body and soul.

Michelle has been a finalist for WBOM’s Woman Entrepreneur of the Year award for 3 years in a row and won the Emerging Woman Entrepreneur of Year award in 2021. In 2019- Wolseley Kombucha won Best New Product award through Food and Beverage Manitoba.

When Michelle is not working on her business, find her at a yoga studio, playing with her daughter or dancing to live music!

MEET JESS

Brewer & Brewery Operations Manager (They/Them)

Jess has worked in the food and beverage industry for over 15 years, and on three continents. They have a background in managing roasteries and breweries and educating in specialty coffee, tea, and beer. A passion for fermentation and yeast emerged through years of being a keen gardener and preserving produce, baking, and brewing. Jess discovered kombucha in Scotland when living with roommates from around the world who had funny looking jars bubbling away on the shared kitchen counter. Years later they’ve found themselves completely immersed in fermented tea, with no chance of looking back.

Jess has a hand in all behind the scenes aspects of Wolseley Kombucha, managing our fermentation and brewing schedules, and our general day to day. Find them on Wall St. behind a steamy kettle brewing, or under a pile of botanicals developing fun new flavours for our detox boxes.

In the evenings you might see Jess cycling to your favourite taproom to read a book. Or you won’t see them at all because they’re in their Wolseley kitchen starting yet another project that will more than likely take three days to complete.

Meet Sara

Assistant Brewer and Delivery Person (She/Her)

Sara is the Assistant Brewer you’ve always wanted – with her background in beer and wine, she has the knowledge and gusto to knock brews out of the park. You can always hear her excitedly telling stories, her raucous laughter ringing through the taproom, boosting morale and making everyday fun! Her enthusiasm for kombucha grows every day that she gets to tend to the SCOBYs in the fermentation room and as she packages all your favourite flavours on the bottling line. On Wednesdays you can catch Sara delivering the bubbly goods throughout the city and spreading the joy of a healthy gut.

Outside of work, Sara enjoys exploring the city through geocaching and rewatching the Lord of the Rings. Again. “It’s timeless”.

MEET TIA

Boochtender at the WK Taproom and Orders Coordinator (She/Her)

Tia brings her 12 years of experience in the customer service field to Wolseley Kombucha, ensuring each taproom customer gets a friendly greeting and conversation while getting their refills! Her love for kombucha began when experiencing gut health issues in 2018 and her passion for the fermented powerhouse has only grown from there.

When she’s not at the taproom slinging booch, you can find Tia on a hike in Eastern Manitoba, lifting weights at the gym or knee deep in home renovations and decorations.
